we are welcoming

We have a diverse range of worship to suit the needs of young and old alike from our peaceful 9am Holy Communion to our Ecumenical Healing Service and Messy Church which is popular with families with young children up to teenagers.  There is something for everyone at St Matthias' Church.

"Embracing Life in all it's fullness" John 10:10

Sunday services:

Holy Communion        9am

Except during July and August.

Morning Worship        10:30am

10am during July and August.

We host two services on a Sunday morning.

At 9am we follow a simple spoken order 2 Holy Communion service.  There is usually a short homily on the set readings of the day. We follow the common revised lectionary readings for the principal service of the day. This service is usually small in number and suits those who prefer a quieter time of worship.

The 10:30 services alternates Holy Communion with variations of a Service of the Word (see below.)

The first Sunday of the Month is Messy Church, this is a variation of the All Age format with the addition of crafts and activities as part of the service.  It is very much a service for the whole church family - especially for those who prefer a more hands-on approach! We always follow Messy Church with some delicious hospitality in the parish centre.

More information about Messy Church can be found here.
